Michael Irvin Pérez Ortega (born October 19, 1964) is a former American professional baseball player who was a pitcher in the Major Leagues for eight seasons in the 1990s. Perez played college baseball for the University of Florida and Troy State University, and thereafter, he played professionally for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Royals. Retrieved November 30, 2010.〕 Perez received an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida, where he played for coach Joe Arnold's Florida Gators baseball team in 1985. He also attended Troy University in Troy, Alabama, and played for the Troy Trojans baseball team.
